Massachusetts Energy Affordability Legislation
As was presented in other sections, this legislation that passed the House first and then the Senate have very different parts that need negotiation and input that is going on at the legislative level as well as the establishment of a state wide coalition: Mass Coalition for Energy Affordability in which NEEEC is actively engaged.
We recently had a lobby day at the state house with very strong concerns by NEEEC and the coalition over several parts of the House version. The most important that needs to be removed is a cut to Mass Save budget of 1 billion dollars that would virtually kill the most successful and important program in the state and country.
This lobby day was actively assisted by Mass 350 and also NEEEC. We brought a flyer and package to key members as well as information to all Reps and Senators.
