Northeast States Dominate Rankings As Most Energy Efficient

The American Council for an Energy-Efficiency Economy (ACEEE) has released its 2016 state energy efficiency scorecard and five northeast states are ranked in the top ten.  Massachusetts was rated first for the sixth consecutive year, sharing the honor with California, and Vermont (#3) and Rhode Island (#4) maintained their top five scores. Connecticut and New York tie for #5.  Just outside the top ten is Maine (#11), who is acknowledged as one of the most improved states.
