Office of Energy Transformation
NEEEC would like to express our appreciation to Governor Healey for the creation of a new office: the Office of Energy Transformation. The OET provides a critical focus on the difficult but necessary process of transitioning our energy economy from fossil fuels to clean energy.
This initiative will have an impact that needs significant policy and program support, including funding, to ensure an effective transition that is also fair and equitable on both sides for workers and businesses across the industry spectrum.
We are equally proud that this Office is consistent with NEEEC’s recent proposals for this transition based on our plan for a Fossil Fuel Transition Advisor Board. Our more recent proposal for fundraising efforts to help with this transition is on our website under Initiatives.
Melissa Lavinson, who has been appointed Director of the Office, is an excellent choice. She has already connected with NEEEC, and we hope to assist with the best ways to move forward in this new and important effort.
